Moonlight danced off tightly wound curls as they trailed across Alaiha’s shoulders and fell over Ha’ala. The view from beneath the small, pale faiye was breathtaking, drawing an ache within Ha’ala’s chest she couldn’t ease. The more her rough fingers ran through the winding red locks, laying light touches on the back of her neck and trailing her back, the more it hurt. A desire so crushing- Ha’ala growled, hunger filled her body. For nearly two-hundred years, the people of Riyzon knew only war amongst themselves. Tired of the fighting, many smaller factions had formed over time, some with focus on greater threats than tensions of hatred between peoples.
At the end of the 212th year since the human’s arrival, dark clustered shards began to rain down from the sky. Some came in showers the size of spears or daggers and others the size of mountains and houses. Each one carried death in the form of a black rot that spread over the areas destroying crops and critters. Crazed beasts and monsters from nightmares funnel out over the realm and consume all in their path. Despite the devastation and impulsive nature of these incidents, the Javelins of Calamity did nothing to dissuade the wars of people still rages on. Alaiha LuRose joined the Allmenders with her sister after escaping the idealism of her family and her people, driven to do something more for Riyzon. Standing with them in neutrality, their focus on healing the poisons of calamities taking their toll on Riyzon. But as with all well intentioned things, festering has begun. When Alaiha discovers prejudice among her people, her loud and unrelenting admonishment of the behavior finds her taken from her home in shackles, her powers drained and being dragged to her death on unfriendly lands. Her life is sparred when a monstrous woman kills her captor. Now, she's face to face with an imposing enemy and no powers to fight back. |
